Yellow Moong dhal-coconut thogayal

There is a saying, "உணவே மருந்து, மருந்தே உணவு". (Food is Medicine and Medicine is food itself, if you eat the right things. This recipe is an example of one such right medicinal diet without oil. This thogayal is the best side dish for Pepper Cumin seeds rasam. Ingredients: Moong dhal- 1.5 cup Grated coconut- 1/2 cup Cumin seeds- 1 tbsp Salt- for taste 1. Dry roast moong dhal until it changes color. The color should be a mix of light brown and yellow. 2. Soak this roasted moong dhal in water for about 30 minutes 3. Drain the water completely and add grated coconut, cumin seeds and salt and grind in the mixie without adding water. Pls. note that the grinding should be done without adding water and the right consistency is having the thogayal in a coarse form.
