Poosanikaai Kootu (Winter Melon Kootu).


This is a simple kootu.

1. Winter melon- cut into small cubes
2. Channa dhal- 2 tbsp
3. Grated coconut-4 tbsp
4. Cumin seeds- 1/2 tbsp
5. Green or red chillies- 3
6. Turmeric powder-1/2 tbsp
7. Salt- as required
8. To saute: Oil, Mustard and curry leaves.


Boil winter melon and channa dhal, with 1 glass of water

Add turmeric powder and let the winter melon get cooked.

Grind coconut, cumin seeds, chillies and add this paste and let this cook well.
Add salt.

Saute with mustard and curry leaves
