Srilankan style Potato Stew (Kiri Hodi)

This is a simple recipe that can be cooked in less than 30 minutes.

Ingredients:

1. Coconut milk- 1 packet
2. Bay leaf- 1
3. Turmeric powder- 1/2 tbsp
4.Green chilli-2
5. Curry leaves-few
6. Salt-as needed
7.Onion-2 and Garlic-2 pods

Boil and peel the potatoes (3-4) lengthwise.

Add 1 tbsp oil and fry the onions and garlic and green chillies.

Add turmeric to coconut milk and mix well.

Cook in slow flame until coconut milk boils and there is change in consitency. Keep stirring and add potatoes and let this cook well.

Keep mixing and switch off in 2 mins. This is a nice variation for String hoppers- idiappam
