Celery Soup (Rasam)

Celery has medicinal properties of reducing bad cholesterol in the body and can also help to break the kidney stones.

This is a Indian recipe of Celery and it was very tasty and we will strongly recommend you to try.

Cut the celery stem into small pieces  (around 1 inch each - 10 pieces).

Grind the pieces in a blender adding 1 red tomato.

Add  1 tablespoon of cooking oil in a wide pan. Add 1/2 tablespoon of mustard seeds


When the mustard seeds start to splatter, add 2 pinches of fresh curry leaves.

Add the mixture that was blended and lower the flame.

Add 1/4 tbsp of turmeric powder and 1 tbsp of rasam powder (mix of coriander seeds, cumin seeds and pepper powder).

You can refer to my other post on how to make Rasam powder at home.

Add around 1 litre of water and let the entire mixture boil. Add salt and serve as soup.

You can also mix with rice and eat. This is truly delicious!
