Bansi Rava Upuma

Bansi Rava is a type of broken wheat from a type called Bansi.

This is a fibre rich dish , and can be a breakfast/dinner.


Key Ingredients:
1. Bansi Rava- 1 cup
2. Raw Onion- 2 finely chopped
3. Tomato- 1  finely chopped
4. Green chilli- 2 slit lengthwise
5. Curry leaves- 1 handful
6. Mustard seeds- 2 tbsp.
7. Red chillies- 4
8. Cooking oil- 2 tbsp
9. Salt.

Heat oil in a broad pan. Add mustard seeds and red chillies and curry leaves.

 Add chopped onions, Tomatoes and green chillies. Fry until the color of onion changes. Then, add 3 cups of water and bring it a boil.


Add Bansi Rava and mix well.
Add another cup of water. Bansi Rava will take longer time to cook and adding water is necessary to ensure that the Bansi Rava is cooked well.
Serve Hot with Any chutney or Sambar.
