Chettinaatu Vellai Appam

Recently our neighbourhood aunty gave me this delicacy to try.

I learnt from her on how to make and everyone loved it. This is a very easy snack.

Ingredients are:

1 Cup Raw Rice

Put urad dhal over this cup of raw rice using your hands. It will be in the shape of a cone.

Soak both together in water and grind well. Batter should be like as shown below.
Add Salt.

 Heat oil in a pan. Add a small ladle of Batter in the oil. It will start coming up like a blooming flower.
Let it cook in one side. Turn over and cook in other side. Serve with Spicy Onion Tomato Chutney

How to make Onion Tomato Chutney:
1. Grind 2 tomatoes and 2 red chillies in mixie.
2. In a pan add oil, add mustard seeds, curry leaves, 1 tbsp of urad dhal and 2 red chillies.
3.Add chopped onion (2) and fry the onion well.
4. Add the grounded mixture after keeping the stove in slow flame/Off mode.
5. Let the mixture cook well. Add Salt and Stir.
Transfer to a serving bowl once the chutney is ready.
