Easy Thattai.. Crunchy tea time snack
Cooking time:20 minutes
Ingredients:
1.Idiappam /Puttu flour or any other fine rice flour-1cup
2.Urad dhal- 1 tbsp
3.Roasted gram- 1 tbspr
4. Chilli powder - 1/2 tbsp
5.Salt- as required
6.Oil to deep fry
7.Butter- 1 tbsp
Procedure:
1.Roast urad dhal in a pan until it changes color. Switch off the stove and cool.
2.Finely grind urad dhal,roasted gram in a blender.
3.Transfer the contents from the blender to bowl.
4.Add rice flour,chilli powder and salt
5.Add butter and mix well
6.Add water slowly and make a tight dough like chapathi
7.Take a plaintain leaf or a plastic sheet and apply few drops of oil in it.
8.Take a small ball of the dough and spread it
9.Use a fork and prick in a few places
10.Add enough oil to deep fry in medium heat
11.Add thattai one at a time. Cook both sides until color is brown and the bubbles are not seen
12.Drain excess oil from thattais and transfer to an airtight container.
