Ladies Finger More Kuzhambu. (Gravy based on Coconut/Thick Curd)- South India Special


Ladies Finger- 10 (chopped as longer pieces)

Coconut- 1/2
Green Chilies-4
Rice- 2 tbsp
Channa dhal- 1tbsp
Toor dhal- 1 tbsp

Cumin seeds- 1/2 tbsp
Thick curd-2 cups.
Turmeric-1/4 tbsp
Salt- as needed
To saute: Mustard seeds- 1tbsp, Urad dhal 1 tbsp and curry leaves 




This is an authentic TamilNadu recipe. This can be prepared in many ways.

This recipe is thick and everyone enjoyed.

Soak Rice, Channa dhal and Toor dhal for 30 mins.

Grind coconut, cumin seeds and green chilli, adding little water. Add the soaked rice, channa dhal and toor dhal. Whisk the curd or add it to the blender.

In a pan add oil and when the oil gets hot, add ladies finger and add turmeric and salt.

Let it fry. Then add the blended mixture and add another 1/2 cup of water, after checking for consistency.

Add salt. Once it starts boiling switch it off.

Add oil to saute in sauting pan, add mustard seeds, urad dhal and curry leaves.

Yummy Gravy ready in less than ten minutes!
